Here’s the basic idea. Work with real food.
Remember this basic ratio: 1 part vinegar to 3 parts oil.
That’s all you need to start making salad dressing.
Creative Options
- Vinegar choices… balsamic, red wine, fruit vinegars
- Oil choices… Olive oil, nut oils. Or mash up an avocado, to add to your vinegar for a creamy dressing.
- Garlic
- Spices or herbs – try ones that you know you like.
- Lemon juice
- Blended nuts
Keep your ratio of 1 part vinegar (acid) to 3 parts oil, but that’s still not a rule.
