Lazy commitments are what some people call micro goals or commitments.
Why make a commitment to just put your work out clothes in the car, but not make a commitment to work out? For many, just putting the clothes in the car, gets them to the gym and working out. It’s the clothes that hold them back.
Or I’m making a commitment to eat two more veggies than I did yesterday. Why? Because I know it will get me closer to my goal and I won’t rebel against the smaller goal. The little goal with help me get to what I really want to do.
I might make a commitment to go for a 5 minute walk. I really want to go for a 30 minute walk. But the 5 minute walk gets me started, and if I do that, I will likely walk for longer than 5 minutes. Or the first time I do it, I realize that I could easily have walked for longer, so the next time I commit to a five minute walk, I easily add another 5 or 10 minutes.
These are micro commitments. And they work.
What micros do you want in your life to help you get the health you need?
